Blues, R & B, Hip Hop and Soul, Electronica, Jazz, and even our
first Christmas Music Release of 2010. For
Immediate Release: August 30th, 2010
Independent
Distribution Collective presents its 33rd Round Solicitation just in
time for placement for the Fall of 2010. We are excited about many of
these new releases as this marks our 33rd full solicitation in our 6
years of operation. Check out the overview of these new titles below.
IDC proudly welcomes these 9 new titles:
The
New Up - Gold CD (IDC is doing Marketing and Promotion of this title)
The New Up, voted a
Best Bay Area Breakout Band of 2009 on MTV2 Ourstage, proudly announces
the release of their fourth studio CD, Gold, on October 26, 2010. Gold
was mastered by Roger Lian (The White Stripes, Madonna, The Killers,
Smashing Pumpkins, and The Strokes) at Masterdisk in New York City, is
the culmination of a series of three EPs; Better Off (2009) which
Performer Magazine called, “An artful sonic balance that's miles
beyond the typical indie-rock release," and the CMJ Top 200-charting
Broken Machine (2008).
Eartha - Ink Dry Blue CD (IDC is doing
Marketing and Promotion of this title)
Grammy Award Winning
Artist EARTHA Releases her newest release 09/21/10. With a raspy sultry
voice and an infectious personality, EARTHA engages and inspires
audiences, collectively and severally. Having strong
convictions about music and its presentation, EARTHA performs with an
acute musical awareness, great degree of sensibility and full-throttled
passion. Her melodic phrasings, substantive lyrics, and eclectic
musical style, better defined as Indie Rock with an Alternative edge,
are nothing less than engaging.
Alabama
Mike - Tailor Made Blues CD
Alabama Mike sure does
know Mississippi. That is the impression one gets from the opening,
title track of his wonderful, sophomore CD, “Tailor
Made Blues.” “Mississippi girl, make your dress tail pop. I
like the way you make those big hips rock,” he sings with a
gifted Blues voice that shames wannabe pretenders. As the story
continues, a love buzzard gets his hands on Mike’s woman, and
Mike tells him to get one of his own “tailor made”
Mississippi girls. Then, using the most wonderful and authentic
sounding Southern accent, he sing-says a long list of Mississippi Delta
towns where one can be found.
ELLUL - Ashes CD
With
sounds this transparent and personal it’s not surprising that
Ashes was entirely produced by the Ellul. Taking the torch from
Asthmatic Kitty Artist/Producer/friend Chris Schlarb, the band
recorded, mixed, and mastered the album at studios all over the San
Francisco Bay - most notably at the legendary Fantasy Studios in
Berkeley, CA. Ellul has surrendered to the momentum, and is looking
forward to move with it. Started in 2005, Ellul is an electronic
rock band based out of San Francisco. Though supported by a rotating
cast of contributing artists, Ellul is the brainchild of songwriters
The General (Joel St. Julien) and Blankethead (Joel Tarman).
Durojaiye
Versatile - The Fermented Sessions CD
The influence of all
genres from 60’s rock and folk, 70’s soul and jazz to
Blues, Hip Hop, Freestyle and 80’s Pop, sets the groundwork for
the sounds that Durojaiye Versatile creates to represent his many
moods. He is best recognized for the use of drums and melodies
and accredits his creative style to his exposure to music in his early
years as a kid growing up in the Bay Area. An Instrumental
Menage-a-Trois of Hip Hop, Sade and Soul to Soul.
Charles
Xavier - Xmas Vibe CD* (IDC is doing Marketing & Promo for this
title)
Happy Note Records
recording artist, Charles Xavier, aka: The XMan, is proud to announce
the release of his new CD, Xmas Vibe, on October 20, 2010. Xmas
Vibe is an enchanting, avant-garde, mystical, eclectic and original
approach to festive, traditional and contemporary Christmas
classics, with the inclusion of one Xavier- original song, performed on
vibraphone and electric guitar with vocal accompaniment. With a
production and compositional skill clearly influenced by Frank Zappa,
Xavier’s highest praise comes from TheCelebrityCafe.com’s
Michael Mardings in reviewing his previous CD The XMan Cometh –
Expect the Unexpected.
*(This title is
available as a 5.1 Surround Sound DVD as well)
Jimmy
Crockett - Cadillac Man CD
With an eclectic
collection of silky vocals over tracks that deliciously blend jazz,
rock and funk infused R&B, Jimmy Crockett’s debut release,
“Cadillac Man” is a trunk full of gems, harkening old
school seventies sensibilities. Strolling in the room,
strummin’ keys and slangin’ grooves like a vintage car
cruising round the highway bend, we can’t help but catch the vibe
and just ride right along with him. He pleasures our forgotten memories
with rhythms that warmly recall AWB meets Steely Dan. The
“Cadillac Man” is cool. It’s funky. And
it’s groovin’!
Will Donato - What It Takes CD
Will
Donato is an award-winning composer, saxophonist, and recording artist
whose new CD release, What it Takes, is his fourth solo CD release on
Innervision Records. The CD features many of the top musicians &
producers in the contemporary jazz/R&B genre including Darren Rahn,
Steve Oliver, Blake Aaron, Eddie Reddick, George Landress (Grammy
Nominee). The CD has already produced a top Billboard single,
Funkability, rocketing up the contemporary charts. There is also an
amazing story attached to this CD which was in Will's successful battle
against throat cancer in early January 2010 of this year.
Patrick
Yandall - The Window CD
Bringing the same kind
of emotional depth and stylistic diversity to contemporary jazz as his
heroes and chief influences Lee Ritenour and Larry Carlton,
guitarist/composer Patrick Yandall has blazed creative and commercial
trails that have inspired a new generation of independent instrumental
musicians to pursue their dreams without compromise. Sixteen years
after breaking onto the scene with his first national recording That
Feels Nice—a sentiment shared by
thousands of fans who still have that seminal work in their
collections—the multi-talented San Diego based performer is as
dynamic, passionate and inventive as ever on his Innervisions Records
debut The Window, which marks his incredible 11th release to date. IDC
would like to take a minute to thank everyone who has supported our
company and our artists and labels over the past 6 years of operation.
