Electrofunkadelica

San Francisco guitarist/songwriter/producer Shaunna Hall, fresh off the Parliament-Funkadelic tour, is releasing a new CD/DVD, "Electrofunkadelica: e3+FUNKnth=music for the body, mind & soul."

"Electrofunkadelica" is a musical collection produced by Shaunna featuring a variety of compositions and collaborations with guest artists and writers, including members of P-Funk and many of Shaunna's past band-mates, including noted SF musicians Kevin Carnes, Eric McFadden, Janis Tanaka, and Christa Hillhouse. "Electrofunkadelica" is a collection of videos and recordings from Shaunna's round-the-world travels as a touring member of P-Funk. The musical styles range from hip-hop, pop, rock and funk, to jazz, neo-classical, nu-metal, electronica and more.

Shaunna describes it this way: "It’s cyborg music for the body, mind and soul. Imagine electronica meeting hip-hop and funk at a Beatles convention taking place inside a virtual rollercoaster ride, with Wes Montgomery imitating Eddie Hazel on guitar, monster-mashing to Black Sabbath."

Shaunna Hall was the founding guitarist of 4 Non Blondes (whose 1992 multi-million selling debut record "Bigger, Better, Faster, More!!" contained 5 Hall compositions). Other notable bands she’s appeared with include Alcohol of Fame, The Eric McFadden Experience, Tribe 8 and Storm, Inc.

In July 2002, Hall jumped on the P-Funk All-Star Circus bandwagon and hasn’t looked back since, completing several national and international tours with George Clinton and Parliament/Funkadelic.

"Electrofunkadelica" was recorded mainly on the road during these travels, with Shaunna’s portable satellite studio configuration: an Apple G4 Titanium PowerBook, a Digidesign M-Box, and ProTools, in hotel rooms, buses, garages and studios all over the world.
